You've reached the end
I feel like the short has a better grip on what's wrong with Nike than it's entire c suite group
You should do Ubisoft for a real riches to rags 🤣
I have no sympathy for Nike whatsoever
Hear that pop? That was the legacy product bubble bursting 😂😅
Reminds me of Intel, corporate boards have zero patience. Some guy came back in 2021 as an engineer CEO to fix the mess, pouring billions back into R&D and foundry tech because previous leadership milked legacy nodes. Then the moment things got rocky, Wall Street panicked and board fired him. They hired a classic MBA cost-cutter to gut everything and pump the stock short-term. The only reason parts of the essential R&D roadmap stayed on course is because the US government stepped in with the CHIPS Act, effectively throwing a massive financial bait to keep domestic manufacturing alive and telling the board "don't you dare roll this back." Now that the long-term tech investments are finally paying off and turning a profit, the cost-cutters will take all the credit for work they tried to kill. Modern quarterly-capitalism is exhausting. I hate it.
That laugh had no right being that appropriate given the situation 😂
Only after seeing the video, I went "Oh, yeah. Nike exists!"
Adidas did the same, realized their mistake and got back into retail asap. Now they even work tightly together with small local shops. Turns out people like to try shoes on before they buy. Who could have thought
Unfortunately it wasn't the child labor, but poor management that caused the issues.
You forgot to mention their lack of quality. Charging $200 for a sneaker that completely breaks down in 3 months
You have the best facial expressions for these.
You can't cost cut your way to maximizing shareholder value in the long run. Sure, you can get some good short term profitability with layoffs and ditching new product development. But that bill always comes due in the end. Just ask Boeing, GE, Home Depot, Albertsons, etc.
Prime example of the C-level’s “I have an MBA, so I know better than you” 😂 good for them reaping what they’ve sown.
What is really fine is Nike is the Goddess of Victory, not of failure
Omg, that sad little Nike face is SOOOOO CUTE! This is so good!
This is actually hilarious
Is Schadenfreude a word in Australia too? Good for you.
"It's gonna be okay" "Is It???" "I actually don't know maybe not." 😂
His acting on both sides!! Killing it/me!!
I stopped buying Nike sneakers after they started breaking after literally a month. I’m happy to see that company burn to the ground
