Nvidia is now worth almost 20% of US GDP. For something like 30,000 employees. That’s ludicrous.

Yes, Nvidia is worth much more than all the farmland in a desert island at the edge of the world.

The idea is underrated I did not expect it to be this good.

the collapse doesn’t matter to the people playing jenga—it’s just about who wins. someone else can pick up the pieces.

Back in 2013-2015 I put 15k a year from the ~240k of Apple I got from dumping my life savings as a teenager into Apple at their lowest pre-iPhone and seeing rumors about the phone on IRC. I had spent about a year working on some neural network models from scratch for college and made the read that CUDA would be industry standard for general purpose compute. It took a little over 16 years, but my summer jobs and part-time has turned into an amount where I can live on the interest and still gain profit at 34. To be fair, I also banked on AMD APUs also being a path forward for a unified architecture with shared memory space for general purpose compute (what the Ryzen AI APUs are being marketed/used for now), and that took about a decade to recover from just letting the shares sit, lol. Intel has also been not the best, win some lose some.
