the way Beth said "school night baby" and the way Rip grinned and smirked like a dad. Love this dynamic. It's one of my favorite story lines in all of YS and now DR. Also when Rip is passing on the knowledge from John to Him, and now to Carter, he could've easily said, Your Grand dad and it would've fit.

Still remember when rip used to not hate carter but trying to kick him out and hate that the kid was troublemaker but now grown up, he started seeing carter more like himself yet sees carter like a son❤

This is great advice if you listen to what he is actually saying. Women like to talk and men tend to react as they want to fix the problem. By saying just listen and shes right, it frames the interaction differently from the start. It stops the automatic reaction to try and fix whatever the problem is and makes your habit to see the other person's side. By just listening you are training your brain to simple pause before reacting which is almost always the best advice. When Beth walked in Rip said nothing and yet Beth and him communicated tons in that silence. People confuse this with always listen to women and dont have your own opinion but that's not what he is saying at all
