Fixing my $6,000 Land Cruiser with a #3dprinter #elegoo #carparts @ElegooOfficial
This $6,000 Toyota Land Cruiser has slowly turned into one of my favorite projects ever. After rebuilding the front axle, learning how to weld, and restoring neglected parts little by little, I finally decided to add a 3D printer to the garage…. Huge thanks to Elegoo for sending me the Centauri Carbon 2 with the CFS system. Being able to print parts at home for this old Land Cruiser has been insanely useful already. Instead of spending $300 on OEM center hubcaps, I printed my own for a fraction of the cost. Then I fixed the floppy AC vents using a tiny shim someone designed almost 10 years ago, printed custom cupholders for the front and rear passengers, and started bringing this old 80 Series back to life one small part at a time. That’s what makes 3D printing so powerful for older vehicles. You can repair discontinued parts, customize your build, and solve annoying problems immediately without waiting weeks for parts to arrive. The craziest part is that some of these fixes only cost cents to print but completely changed the usability of this truck.
