Matty's father Benny "The Chains" (Dennis Hopper ๐) is a full-blown Brooklyn mob boss who can literally cover entire neighborhoods in darkness โ ๏ธ. All he wants is for his only son to inherit the family business culture like a good little heir. Simple, right? Wrong. โ Matty is so disgustingly soft he can't even pass the most basic gangster test โ killing ONE guy ๐ซ๐. ONE. Buddy failed so hard his dad exiled him to the regular world like a grounded teenager grounded from the mafia. ๐ But here's the sick joke โ because of his dad's reputation, no normal job in New York will touch him. None. He's too mob-adjacent for honest work but too gentle for mob work.
