Asian Dad Energy is a 25 year big tech veteran who left the industry and has since become one of the most honest voices on YouTube talking about what is actually happening inside tech. In this conversation he breaks down why the odds of breaking into the tech job market right now are worse than most people will tell you, why AI is simultaneously a legitimate productivity tool and a financial bubble the real economy cannot survive when it pops, why the big tech layoffs are being used as a PR strategy to inflate stock valuations, and why a 25 year veteran called OpenAI a scam and Sam Altman a grifter without flinching. vast majority of the population doesn’t care about someone’s ‘development tools’😂. and who else would care about this crap enough to pay any money for it. if your Google browser suddenly has some enhanced search abilities you’ll say OK fine but if they disappear tomorrow, you will certainly not pay money to get them back. And that is especially true in a troubled economy where millions of people are laid off afraid for their jobs and therefore saving money not doing any unnecessary spending, etc.. It’s very surprising to me that these guys supposedly being smart, lack the wisdom and ability to see the bigger picture in order to understand that eventually this could come down on them too in their personal lives, even if they are millionaires and billionaires. You would think they would instead cherish their high paid employees make them happy and ensure they keep their jobs and can support the economy. But that would take a certain amount of patriotism and focus on your own country your own community, your own people, but in a globalist world that is antithetic to the typical mindset. by the way, outsourcing is not just about H1B Visas. It’s also about simply having major development divisions and centers all over the world.
maybe let’s stop calling everyone an engineer. it falsely hypes and inflates the significance. let’s maybe go back to programmer or software developer. and maybe leave the term engineer to those who are actually building things that society cannot be without, and that cannot just break all the time and not purely for gadgets and entertainment. How did programmers and developers suddenly become engineers?? only very few programmers should be called engineers maybe like those that write airplane navigation autopilots or something like that. The quality of vast majority of programs these days are just not up to par to being called engineering. And it’s almost not possible when the foundation and basic laws are constantly shifting around and being pulled out from underneath you or completely and entirely changing. That’s not engineering. It’s more like folk art.😂 true engineering is built on foundational and mostly unchanging principles which only evolve overtime in certain aspects. most of the software crap is needed only by the tech companies themselves and those who want to either have fun or to save money at the expense of other people’s quality of life
I am a networking engineer and I find it 100x harder than before finding a role. I am a senior and my goodness the level of expectation are off the charts.
