Knowing that you're going to lose a good paying job and be tossed into a poor job market is the definition of depressing.
The salt into the wound is that fact that the H-1B program is increasing. This is criminal and politicians need to be punished over it.
Big business needs to pay their fair share of taxes. No more corporate welfare. My taxes are going to subsidize big business while they pay little or zero tax.
In the OLD DAYS, managers had to fire you. Today, you get fired via email. It is horrible.
META doesn’t give s sh*t about people - they treat their account holders like dirt, allowing scammy ads that never get removed even after being reported as fraudulent; suspending accounts for spurious reasons with no way for account holders to appeal; allowing accounts to be hijacked with no support given to legit holders to get their accounts back - just to name a few bits of evidence that They. Don’t. Care.

I was on the block for 8 months! It was torture. 8 months of worrying. Nearly killed me. Learned a lot about myself during these times. I found new Tech job but at like 35% less salary. All the jobs out there in Tech, The companies are taking advantage of the hard times and cutting salaries like you wouldn't imagine. The times are bad. We almost need Universal Income like NOW to help the entire country from going bankrupt. I couldn't imagine making Meta employee salaries and living in areas where you bought housing at 500K+, have a few kids, a new car, etc. You are will be lucky to make like 50% of your salary if you were making over 200k a year. It's the hard truth. Most Tech people laid off are looking at extreme salary decreases.
