I find it so funny all the online videos about jobs underplay local networking, it's always online stuff. It may be my age but I do think real life events have value, a lot of luck is needed but it can work out. Also the boring stuff like if a company is near you go and talk to them, ask what they want then do follow ups as you learn what they want (may be more a student tip?). A lot of it is kind of long play, you need to reach out and find people, try to keep some what in contact (half yearly checkups not stalker stuff) and play the game.
