Now Alcaraz has also overtaken age-old record of Jimmy Connors beating a veteran player with a sixteen years age difference advantage 3 times in slam final - Wimbledon 2023, 2024 & now Australian open. Great Connors could only manage this amazing feat just twice in 1974 against Rosewall. And that it took one 5 sets - to win by big fluke, another 4 sets - against a fatigued father & then three sets - against a one legged Grandpa - is commendable because Connors could only manage in straight sets giving Rosewall few games in both the finals which was unimpressive 😅 On this count too Alcaraz is exceptiona, phenomenal l and unassailable. This is also a historic record to be treasured for ages. Well done Alcaraz. 🎉 We are all so proud about what you achieved which is unprecedented in tennis and making it more vitalised.
