Two legends playing a single handed backhand. It’s such a privilege to be born in this era

Just beautiful. Roger - the greatest player to ever touch a tennis court.

From greatness to greatness. There will never be another Federer. He gave us 20 years of pure class and brilliant tennis. I’m so happy to have watched him play — only once in person.

I love the one handed backhand! It's so smooth. Sampras is one of the greats! Federer became my favorite player when Sampras retired.

Coming back to watch this today after Alcaraz just beat Djokovic. Gave me serious flashbacks to this match, which I haven't watched since it was live back in 2001. What a great day to be a fan.

16 JULY 2023 Watching this today just as Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic. The new blood defeats the old blood, the cycle must continue.

It’s such a historic match. The end of Sampras domination and the beginning of Federer domination. Federer said recently that this was one of his probably 3 favorite games he ever played.

Passing of the torch moment right there. Two of my favourite players growing up right there

The innocence of youth. At 19 who would have know Roger would go on to have an amazing career.

People recognize how brilliant Roger played, but don't give PETE enough credit for his plays. This was the worse year of PETE's career and he was clearly having an off day against a genius playing genius tennis, but he still came up with insane serves and volleys that made this match incredibly close. The 136 mph serve PETE hit in a tiebreaker down 2 sets to 1 followed a few points later by the on-the-rise, behind-his-back perfect-drop-shot volley Pete hit to win the 4th set was insane.

Sampras. 85sq inch racket. Came out in 1984, never switched technology. Served 130mph consistently. The Man was the God of Tennis.

This video will be amongst the most trending now after the announcement of Federer's retirement. Truly this was the moment when a star was born.

Coming here after FedEx announced his retirement ! 24:37 - Commentator aptly says "An absorbing contest which marked the end of one golden era and the start of another !"

Still gives me goosebumps to see the end of an era and beginning of another.
