What an incredible match... it was a huge injustice that it was a first round because the level was high from start to finish. Only one break of serve in the first set and then it was neck-and-neck and they were matching each other blow for blow until Carlos nailed a final forehand scorcher down the line to win it. It was probably the only way to get it done or it could've gone all the way again in a potential 3rd set. Rinderknech has always given Alcaraz a tough fight in their match-ups due to the all-court variety and occasional bursts of power to catch Carlos off guard. This was a brutal match for a first round... the level was at least quarterfinals worthy. But this may have played Carlos back into match rhythm form for the rest of the tournament
Carlos is so much more fun to watch than Sinner. He has way more flair and style.
