Not sure if anyone has said this in the chat or here on the YouTube comments, but Doug Allen was removed from his position as Sabres anthem singer during the COVID-19 pandemic season in 2020-21 season (the one without fans at all) because he was anti-mask. They didn't make a big deal of it at the time because of all the controversy with masks and all, but it was made public and explicitly stated at the time. Doug Allen is a big-wig at the Buffalo City Mission and has expressed some anti-science views... But he points at the people and the camera when he sings, so he was generally well-liked until then. But there have been people who boo him during the anthem pretty loudly, and they've been doing it for decades. Cami got the job singing the anthems as a result of the anti-mask views. If he wasn't anti-science, Doug would still be the full-time anthem singer (well full-time is technically true, but he never sang the anthem on, I think, Friday nights because he was working at the Mission).
Has this Habs/Sabs series actually been incredible or are people just inclined to believe so because they’re excited about these teams? It’s weird because it’s a close series full of lopsided games. It’s undoubtedly had some extremely exciting moments, but large parts of it have been played with one team trailing and the outcome of the game all but decided.
