I THOUGHT I HAD WEEKS LEFT BEFORE GIVING BIRTH π³ | Baby #7 Raw Birth Vlog
RAW + unedited footage of my labor and delivery with baby #7 π€ | Positive hospital epidural birth vlog Even though this was my seventh baby, this birth completely shocked me and reminded me that every pregnancy, labor, and delivery is different. At 38 weeks pregnant, I developed a severe headache that would not go away β even after taking Tylenol. Since I normally go close to 42 weeks with my pregnancies, I truly believed I still had weeks left before meeting this baby. I almost waited until my OB appointment later that day to mention the headache, but something told me to call sooner. After hearing my symptoms, my OB immediately told me: βPack a hospital bag and get childcare for your kids. Iβm concerned and you may possibly be having this baby today.β That sentence alone sent us into complete chaos π We scrambled to throw together a hospital bag, arrange childcare for our six kids, and rush to labor and delivery triage while trying to process the fact that this baby might actually be coming weeks earlier than expected. Whatβs crazy is that I had recently watched a show that mentioned preeclampsia symptoms beyond swelling and high blood pressure β specifically a headache that wonβt let up. That information is honestly the only reason I recognized the symptom as potentially serious and called my doctor. At triage, my blood pressure kept fluctuating between normal and high, and I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension. Although my labs did not show protein in my urine, my doctor felt strongly that remaining pregnant could quickly progress into preeclampsia, so we moved forward with an induction. In this birth vlog, Iβm sharing: π€ RAW labor and delivery footage π€ My 38 week induction experience π€ Gestational hypertension / preeclampsia concerns π€ Hospital birth vlog π€ Positive epidural birth experience π€ Labor induction with Cytotec (misoprostol) π€ Cervical ripening induction process π€ What contractions felt like during induction π€ Transition and active labor π€ Delivering another very large baby vaginally π€ Postpartum recovery π€ Newborn baby moments I have a history of delivering 10+ pound babies vaginally, and despite arriving weeks earlier than expected, this baby was STILL a big baby π One of the hardest parts of this experience was the induction itself. Because my body was not remotely ready for labor yet, the cervical ripening process took hours and hours before things suddenly shifted very quickly. After a long night of contractions, zero sleep, multiple rounds of induction medication, and feeling convinced nothing was progressingβ¦ active labor finally hit fast. From true active labor to delivering my baby was only about 15 minutes. Even after seven births, I still get nervous every single time because birth is so unpredictable. But this experience reminded me again how incredible womenβs bodies are.
