Minor correction - The Freaky Forester random event was changed sometime after osrs's release to provide a reward no matter which pheasant was killed. Previously if you gave the wrong pheasant you werent given a reward and was teleported to a random location.

what i remember from barrows release: the typical player had a sub-3m total bank value, typical gear was like full rune and a d long. d scim existed but not many had it because MM1 was like a gigasweat quest. no one really knew about using mage because you would have to use blood runes with a max hit of 20 which was expensive, not to mention all the invy space. desert treasure didnt come out for a month or 2 after and not many had the mage level or spare cash to fund ice barrage or even ice blitz. prayer pots were almost too expensive to use and there werent any good ways to train prayer so most people had around 50 pray. ghosts ahoy had come out like 2 months earlier so not that many people had an ectophial yet. legitimately walking from Varrock was how many players did barrows including myself. agility training sucked so few had above 50-60, there were no stams and you would need so many energy pots to run the whole way in your full armour and food it just wasnt even worth it. so we walked through paterdomus, through the swamp, got some food eaten by ghasts, through the snail maze, used our pray points on dharok, if we had any prayer left after dlonging him down with 70s melee stats we would use the rest on ahrim, then we would just tank the rest of the bros, loot our chest, tele back to varrock and start again. it was like 4-6 chests per hour. this was endgame pvm. edit: oh yeah and if you died because your prayer dropped during dharok or you overstayed trying to kill the last brother once all your food ran out because you'd already committed 15 minutes to the run, you absolutely lost everything except your 3 best items. your loot appeared for everybody after like a minutes and disappeared after 2, there was no way to get back in time. I met a guy who made money by just alching and waiting in the dharok crypt waiting for people to die.

For the brassican mage should probably use augury for the best defense bonus, gives the same 25% def boost plus also buffs mage by 25% so should help even more. Though when attacking the mage, rigour likely win just due to killing the mage faster.

The Bandos Godsword in Murder Mystery quest is also like the Blue Partyhat. You can’t actually equip it or trade it and it basically says “hey, how did you get this?”

Unusual Money Maker: Farm MA2 Capes - specifically Zamorak. You can use the Accursed Sceptre to cast Flames of Zamorak with the Wilderness bonus. Turn it in, get a cape. Die to a friend/alt below 20 Wild to get 96k/cape. Should be 2m/h. If the person killing doesn’t loot the coins and doesn’t have loot keys, an iron man can do this for raw GP - they can come back to where they died and loot the GP as long as nobody has touched it.

Re-clicking resources makes it go faster and nothing can tell me otherwise

For the brassican mage you did the test wrong. the Viewer said it had a pvp like effect. protect mage reduces damage it does not affect how often magic splashes. You were supposed to track the actual damage values not how frequently it hit.
