It goes even deeper than hurting the used market, specifically it lowers the value of used apple products which is actually good for them because it maintains their healthy margins with people who can afford to buy a new one to avoid someone else's name being on their stuff, but at the same time it also makes apple products more accessible for people who genuinely are on a budget and wouldn't be able to afford Apple products otherwise which gets them in the ecosystem and using apple services.
