A small correction: Charhound and Gloomhound DO have lore - in fact, its suggested that is what Goremaw effectively became. Sargeras so twisted his pet that it became the in-universe concept of a balrog. The two Hounds of Sargeras we see are replicants of this same process, uber-powerful hounds capable of massive destruction. Mount descriptions, baby!
