The fines would be pocket change in the grand total of the Rangers' coffers and each player's own accounts

*"Sliding on the rain cover (or infield tarp) risks fines or ejections. For example, Major League Baseball players have been fined $500 for sliding on wet tarps, and in amateur leagues like the Monroeville Baseball Association, you can be suspended for unsportsmanlike conduct or interference with field maintenance."*

Fine money? Ya I'm glad I realized decades ago that all sports are bullshit fake entertainment, real athletes with real skills and talent, but it's all a show, that's why they get paid so much that's why the yankees didn't even play or care when they gave the 2001 world series to the Diamondbacks, Fucking joke. Literally handed the world series to the shitest baseball team at the time, all for money all to sell the diamondback brand to Arizona locals waste money on a new stadium, ridiculous. And if you think it was legit go back and watch the all star Yankees, Jeter, Clemens, Strawberry, the Yankees had all the best players at the time and they literally handed the world series to Arizona, it was disgusting.

It's not like the infield is a pristinely kept turf like a cricket pitch. If a cricket pitch gets damp prior to covers going on, they cover it with Hessian then huge great pitch covers otherwise it makes the surface unplayable. Baseball isn't a bouncing ball game.

Stuff like that being fineable is why I don't watch the majority of organized sports. Who actually enjoys stupid rules and regulations like that.

If the teams were smart they'd have someone paid to go out there and do this during every rain delay. Instead it's fines because the league is run by accountants instead of fans.
