OBD1 D-series engines were peak ease of maintenance cars. Even the timing belt was easy to replace. Some of Honda's best engines were from the base model cars that were mega mass produced, which is a big factor for their success.

I have had the privilage to own two civics in my life. It is just pure class.

Honda engines are amazing. We had honda brio- good car with no problem at all. They should probably provide more features in the cars compared to rivals.
