I was 18 when I went on my first date with my husband. I asked him Why are you dating for fun or marriage? Do you want kids? If so how many? Do you want a wife who works or stays home with the kids? Do you want to get married young or date around and wait til your older? I was told by so many people I was crazy, pushy and weird. We got married young, have 5 kids and are truly each other’s best friend. I didn’t want to waste my time I also didn’t want to waste his
25 minutes in… My husband gets home (most days) at 3:25pm. The kids know to go to the playroom or outside, not because we don’t love them but because we value our spouse. For 30 minutes we chat and race Mario Kart. Seems so silly but it’s our secret sauce. We laugh, we mix in the fires of the day, and we discuss our days. He gets my full rundown of the day and I get his. Afterwards, I go and make dinner and he spends time with our children. This last year my husband realized how much I have on my plate. Not only was I doing the whole kids athletic schedule (dance, golf, hockey, scouts), but I was driving our son each day (sometimes 45 mins away) and sitting through all of his services. My husband said “it’s not acceptable” and now does most of the extracurriculars. I felt so seen. I didn’t have to complain about it. He just acted. And I thank Mario Kart for that!
This man is spittin’ literal fire that can potentially save so many people from years of relational pain and suffering or eventual divorce. Bravo! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I like today's guest a lot. He doesnt talk surface level and wont go after trend either. He talks with long term vision and Christian values whether he does it intentionally or not. And he is not like the red pill guys which most of them are just surface level info or after current trend. May God bless him and his work 👍🏽.
my husband and I got married after a year. On our first date we didn't beat around the bush at all. Laid out our lifestyles, our expectations, our ideas and views on money. It all matched or was a near match enough to consider it compatible, plus it didnt hurt that he is handsome and genuine to-boot. I love him dearly.
I feel like a lot of people don't watch this exact content because they DON'T WANT TO FACE THE MUSIC. BUT I DO!!!
When I had my first date with my husband he said "I'm only dating you with the purpose of us getting married" and I said "Same here" and we were engaged 3 months later. 8 years and 2 kids. Never waste your time on no promises, direction and no foundation in Jesus.
Can't get enough of this guy! Make him a recurrent guest
Lila, I’d love to see an episode on friendship. What does it mean to be a friend and how to be a friend?
i believe a lot of people who are watching this episode thinking i wish I had known this sooner and blaming yourself for not acting in a certain way in your past relationships. God gave you this epoisode and the messages at the perfect timing, He SAVED you from the previous relationships and it is a divine protection. MOVE ON and start acting differently NOW. it is never too late.
"Endlessly curious about one another!" YES
Kinda hate using the words "business" and "contract." Marriage, at its core, is a covenant. Are there business things involved in that? Yes. But it is first a covenant.
My marriage is annulled I am trying to start over this is the best advice ever!
May the man God intended for me, find me! All Glory be to Jesus ❤️🔥
"I respect you" is great but can be "You take such good care of us" or "you're so brave...diligent...unselfish...etc...."
My grandfather used to say that " Marriage is a business " and used to laught when we will say we want to marry for love. Boy was he ever right
Who is this guy!???! Relationship GENIUS!!!!!
" women change for relationship, men change for consequences" Thank you Adam & Lila for your charity sharing your knowledge with us.
"How does this play out with you and God?" This is a real part of accountability!
We need more information about 12 levels of consequences! I hope it gets explored next time Adam will be on the podcast
