Used to be a submariner. I'd be at sea, staring at sonar screens, and occasionally think "what tf am I doing here?" A burst of clarity. Then it faded.
Consent isn't consent when there's no alternative. If you don't consent to those terms you don't get utilities, financial services, technology, income. They do it to legalize their dominance while blaming it on us for "agreeing" as if we could live without a phone or rent a house. We "agree" just by being born. It's all decided for us. The type of skepticism about the corporate world (and society) you speak of, does not go away. It grows. As you said, it can’t be unseen. The slippery slope is in seeing it more and more as you get older, and the bitterness which can follow. This is what happened to me. The only way out is to detach in healthy ways, and do the things which nourish your soul. Great video.
