DIY Camper Van Conversion Update | Bed Installed & Ceiling Insulation
Another step forward in the camper van build — even if nothing goes completely to plan. In this vlog I run into a few unexpected problems, from IKEA bed frame screws being the wrong size to dealing with noisy renovations outside while trying to film. I finally get the bed frame mounted inside the van, test the layout, and start figuring out how compact the kitchen and living space will actually be. I also install some budget insulation on the ceiling, but there’s one major issue… the chemical smell is seriously strong. I talk through whether it’s worth keeping or if it all needs to come back down. Plus, I’m debating roof fan options, solar panel mounting ideas, flooring plans, and the next stage of the van conversion. There’s also a random road-trip style song segment thrown in there because… why not? 😂 Thanks again for all the support and new subscribers — the encouragement genuinely helps keep the build going. 👍 Like, comment, and subscribe to follow the van build journey. 00:00 Intro & IKEA screw problem 00:52 Ordering new screws for the bed frame 01:25 Strange delivery interaction 02:16 Windy van day & microphone audio issues 03:46 Bed frame finally installed 04:40 Leveling the bed around the wheel arch 05:22 Testing the bed strength & frame concerns 06:29 Planning the compact kitchen & seating layout 07:40 Camper van road trip song montage 09:49 Ceiling insulation installed — but there’s a problem 10:34 Strong chemical smell concerns 12:03 Debating whether to install a roof fan 13:42 Figuring out the next stage of the build 14:18 Building wooden bed frame supports 16:00 Flooring plans & future van layout ideas 17:24 Thank you to new subscribers & outro #VanLife #CamperVanBuild #VanConversion #DIYCamper #VanBuild #TinyLiving #OffGridLiving #CamperConversion #DIYVanBuild #VanLifeUK #SelfBuildCamper #VanRenovation #CamperLife #TravelVlog #VanLifeBuild
