"Buy a laptop" Is the most -200 IQ response to a project like this I could have expected.
Holy crap it’s finally here!
People saying this wasn’t a good idea, only said that because they have no imagination PS: Tom is the man
Using pizza boxes for prototyping was incredible LOL
I bet a steam controller could fit perfectly into this. Since it's wireless, you don't need the retractable cable, plus it has built in track pads for mouse movements.
Thanks Tom!
Finally after months of waiting
I THOUGHT I WAS TRIPPING BUT BRO ACTUALLY WAS SITTING ON THIS FOR A WHILE
Highly recommend getting some 90 degree angle HDMI, Displayport, and ethernet connecting adapters so your wires can flow to the back instead of straight up. it will look cleaner. you can then add some zip tie mounting bracket to help with the flow of cable management.
Time to log off work early today! What an insane refresh pull. This is more exciting than the finale of The Boys
The pizza boxes is a 10/10 move 🤣 Thanks Tom!
Bro reinvented the dentist office setup to avoid sitting in one chair
Projects like this are exactly why I got into mechanical engineering. Thank you Tom, for making this video possible.
I see two issues you would have to follow a specific path every time to not twist and break the cables second issue you have not secured the nuts on the arms so if they snag They're gonna slowly get untightened and may cause it all to come crashing down you can either use a pin or like they do with heavy machinery tie them down with wire
All you need is a split keyboard that hangs on your pants pocket; trust me, it would be a brilliant idea.😂😂😂
The only thing I would still recommend is connecting the monitor arm to earth ground. Since power cables can get pinched there, voltage could easily end up on the monitor arm.
Huge thank you, Tom! Gotta say, this is phenomenal! I’m floored by your incredible craftsmanship. I would say I’m saving this video for when I build my dream office, but there’s no way I would be able to do that metal work. Great work! I don’t know if you remember, but I commented on your last full video with some criticism on your editing, saying the last video felt like it had ADHD. I’m back to say this one was SO much better. I loved that you had each part of the build in a category and cleaning worked through each part to build to the final reveal. You did a great job clearly laying out the problems you had to overcome, providing your process on finding the solution, then showing the build to do it. Fantastic video!!
discovered this channel literally last night at 5am, now you're telling me i get another upload it doesnt get any better than this
Waiting for when you decide a "remote and or voice commands and motorized arm" become the next step in the process.
4:55 yes, weld distortion can be stopped by clamping the part to a flat surface and letting it cool in place, or if it’s really bad “pre loading” the distortion in the opposite direction so it pulls it back towards flat
