I swear, I made a joke about something called an “Intel-book” recently (an all Intel laptop similar to the Macbook series), and I don’t think that the joke could have been timed better.

At this price point, people rarely care about the specs, (apart from maybe the storage space) and instead look at the entire package as a whole. Marginal spec improvements like processing speed is not going to cut it. And when you take build quality and ease of use, the MacBook Neo with MacOS is going to be a way better option for the majority of people. And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't use a Mac an iPhone or isn't glazing apple.

The thing these companies don’t get is that you can’t simply go up against an apple product and be marginally better. It’s an apple product you have to be VASTYLY superior at the same price point or you will ALWAYS lose out to the apple product.

It’s not the price. It’s the fact it’s a MACBOOK for the price that made it so popular. Those who bought the neo don’t care about the specs, they care it’s a MacBook for $600.

PC manufacturers have to understand that you can't just go after Apple at one specific area and advertising yourself. You need to compete with everything. Memory, screen, and most importantly power to battery ratio.

If the competing laptops ship with windows then they are still cutting themselves off at the knees. As a windows user since version 2.0 I recently switched to Mac OS and it is just better in almost every way, even running on my second hand 8Gb M1 mini. I won’t be going back to windows.
