Yeah, sure, there's vacuum forming. There was a lot of time and money necessary to facilitate the uncovered dash. Those are two craftsmen making absolutely sure the end product is as perfect as it's going to get. Very similar to the story told of a Ford assembly line being shut down because a machine wasn't functioning properly. Henry Ford gets the guy who designed and built it to come out and solve the issue. The man is there only minutes and resolves the issue. The assembly line is back up and running. He sends Henry a bill for a hefty sum. Henry doesn't want to pay. The man sends another bill stating. It's not what he did. It was knowing where the issue was. Henry wasn't paying for the labor. He was paying for the knowledge. Those two men. It's not their labor. It's their knowledge they are being paid for.
I miss my 79 El Camino, Monte Carlo limited edition. I hope it's as cool of a car to them as it was to me.
