The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim features an assortment of unique masks from its cast of Dragon Priests, however one such artifact is paticullarly strange. Konahrik, a mysterious helm earned through the completion of a bizarre easter egg is clearly special and has earned the attention of an assortment of mysterious factions. Today we investigate! I solve this mystery by naming my character Konahrik. It was always for me.
You need to be forgetting to use your pop filter during the essential recording session. You need to be forgetting about what plosives are until it’s time to edit audio. You need to be breathing heavily into your microphone everything you say a “b” or “p” sound, causing enormous auditory distress. You need to be spending an extra 3 days trying to edit your plosives out in audition and premiere. Oh, wait, you don’t have to do any of that!!!! Use a pop filter everyone!!!
Hello! Guy who made the Dragon Priest Masks here. I was not the brainchild behind them - my Level Designer friend Joel Burgess was, you can meet him in my Skyrim documentary "You're Finally Awake" - but I designed their look and put them into the game. Using West African masks as a reference, I created all the masks in under a week. I wanted them to radiate powerful personalities that were somehow also ambiguous; I wanted them to feel evil on evil characters, and wise/stern on good characters. They're one of my favorite things I made for Skyrim (and that includes that Dragons!) -- I even sell stickers of them at Comic Cons! (but you have to buy the whole set to unlock the secret Konahrik sticker, which is gold, bahaha). Great work as always Nate!!
When Elder Scrolls 6 finally comes out Nate will be set until retirement.

Also, while it's a 'looks like' argument, Konahrik's tusk are surprisingly similar to the sweeping beard that Ysgramor is despicted with.

IMO, Konahrik is a dragon priest who did lead the order in the far past and used that mask…but wasn’t buried with it, because we literally stole it from the past. He could be any number of generic dragon priests without masks we encounter at higher levels, we’d have no way of knowing who is Konahrik due to us having stolen his mask.

TBH i think the purpose of the room at laberynthian, is to effectively decide on who is the head priest. it would require the consent of all the leading dragon priests and if someone decides to not place his mask on the altar that signals that there is no agreement, thus whoever was taken to be the next head priest will not be the head priest
