Film Theorist actually did a video calculating the minimum cost and number of bricks for recreating the movie shot for shot. It was still like 25K USD but surprisingly feasible for a dedicated legoer.

they weren't all real Lego bricks. at least not prior to the movie's release. stuff like Unikitty, for example, had detail pieces that were custom designed for the movie and then went into production later.

funnily enough, even the SMEAR FRAMES are made using real lego pieces

the lego movies are some of the greatest movies in the world. the animations have so much detail that it's like genuinely looking at a lego stop motion with good image quality rather than animation, the jokes are hilarious, and the stories are so good. they're honestly great pieces of cinema.

they didnt add any motion blur because that wouldn't be possible in a stop motion animation. they also scanned in blocks rsther than just modelling them so the scratches are actually real and they made all the pieces inflexible so they can't bend at all so it acts like real lego

I doubt every colors and prints is actually available for everything they have shown. It's the same for Lego games. They use pieces that exists and colors that exist but it doesn't mean the parts are available in those colors.
