Coolest part of this is 900+ years later, in season 1 of Star Trek Star Fleet Academy we actually see Exocomps all over the place. Now THAT was a good callback!

Great dialogue. Great writing. I wish in reality, our politicians and people at large would be more reasonable like this and find compromises when they disagree. We can learn something here.

What's REALLY sad is 20 years ago this kind of discussion/debate and compromise was not a surprising thing to see, on TV and in real life.

Riker is a great leader. Even though Data was disregarding the order Riker was giving, Riker stayed open minded looking for any solutions. No ego, no judgement, results orientated. He knew Data had a firm ground to stand on, but Riker was out of options. A good leader is willing to get the job done right.
