Roderika was just happy to be included in accompanying Tarnished and their journey to become the new Elden Lord.

Roderika was giving off horse girl vibes that the royals were not about.

When you upgrade your spirits for a certain amount she introduces herself again as a spirit tuner, and she sounds slightly joyful and confident at that moment. She was glad she found her purpose.

Roderika herself confirms she is a tarnished. Its very likely that she was brought back to life in her homeland, but fir whatever reason, she never saw grace guiding her to the lands between. A noble house that suddenly has a long dead member come back would probably be very eager to be rid of her before she upset the current power structure, and would send her off to where they heard the other tarnished were headed.

That explains how when she first moves in she still has her hood but after she settles in she removes it. She found a new home

I'd like to think that Roderika also leveled up the Stormhawk King ashes for Nephelli Loux.

It's comforting to know that we did some good at least instead of just killing everything.

Roderika strikes me as a person who was abused emotionally. She has no sense of self-worth, she attributes a basic survival instinct to cowardice, and just the way she carries herself. She sits sideways on the floor, and in the roundtable, stands off to the side like she doesn't know what to do until she again finds herself just on the floor with a carpet. I expect someone got a daughter when they wanted a son, and treated her like the garbage she thought she was. I doubt she did anything related to spirit tuning before the lands between as she only takes our word that Hewg thinks she MIGHT have an aptitude for it before even trying. That sounds like a person who has been told they were worthless and would never amount to anything. I want to give her a hug and teach her to believe in herself. She's a stranger in a strange land, her entire retinue gone, with no way home and no home to return to. At least we can rest assured Hewg is a good and kind friend to her.

I love Roderika. You can tell she’s one of the few characters in Elden Ring who is just genuinely a good and reasonably normal person. Most of the other Tarnished in the Round Table Hold are all out for each other’s throats trying to gain the power of the Ring, but she just wants to survive another day and find a purpose.

There were times before the burning of the Erdtree that I would not merely go to her for spirit tuning, but rather just fall next to her for a while, still clad in my armor, and exhausted from the battles I fought. My goodness, I need to play Elden Ring again.

I hope Roderika escaped the burning roundtable. She deserved a nicer fate.
