You've reached the end
"You have to wear Radahn set" All the Kevins in the world: *And who was right?! Who the hell was right?!*
YOU CAN SEE IT TARNISHED!!! MY CURSED TECHNIQUE!!!
oh damn its me Here's a small FAQ for concerns you might have: Question 1: How does this work? A: Every time Mohg says "Nihil" he inflicts a 999 bleed build up on the player through a special effect, if the player has more than 999 robustness that they can use Stanching Boluses and not trigger a blood loss Question 2: How did you find this? A: I was playing Nightreign with friends as raider and I managed to find a consistent method to avoid all Nihil damage, first time I did it I thought it was an accident because of co-op but second time I tried it and it worked, I noticed that I got the bleed build up but it never actually got a bleed proc so I investigated further by reading the Nihil Emevd (event files) and Parameters in the regulation.bin to find my answer. Question 3: Why? Is this even useful? Just use X and kill him before phase 2 even starts 🤦 A: Why not? it's an attack everybody thought was impossible to avoid and now it's possible, that alone is very cool to me. It's not particularly useful for anyone not interested in hitless and yes you can just deal high damage and kill the boss but I am a low damage runner, I love fights taking 10 minutes each so it benefits me greatly. Even if I'm never going to be able to use it in a full run scenario I can use it in kills, how cool is that?? See the following example of me avoiding Nihil in the middle of a boss fight in New Game +7 at level 1 with an unupgraded weapon /R7hUXX1ufw0 Question 4: What about hitless runs/runners? Are they affected by this discovery? A: Yes and No... This is a bit of a lengthy answer so I'll put it in bullets. 1: This strategy relies heavily on the Ailment Talisman locked behind Mohg, Lord of Blood to hit the barrier of 999 Robustness, before the DLC the highest amount of Robustness a max level character could get was 958 making it completely impossible to avoid the blood loss/damage from Nihil. 2: Given the nature of hitless runs people normally go from "New Game" to Ending Credits so if someone were to do fight Mohg, they won't have the resources available to avoid that attack and even if they did certain restrictions simply wouldn't allow for it (such as No Buffs or No Talismans) 3: If someone is doing a run on NG+ and they kill mohg, then you can argue that they should've used it there, however as it stands Team Hitless describes the attack as a scripted damage event (and they're correct about that) therefore it never counts as a hit. Question 5: You use Seppuku to damage yourself to avoid damage, how does that work? Isn't that a hit?? A: No, Seppuku or any kind of self-inflicted damage does not count as a hit. A hit is generally defined as damage or stagger by an enemy/trap/external factors or the player dying, this is none of them. Using Seppuku would be problematic if someone is doing Hitless AND Damageless though. Question 6: Aren't there other methods to avoid Nihil that require less effort? A: Yes, you're absolutely correct in that you can use the Fine Crucible Feather Talisman and just backstep or use Blindspot or Bloodhound's Finesse, however all 3 are very clear oversights on fromsoft's end as they forgot to apply an important special effect that made the player take damage. And yes you could argue that this one is also an oversight but I like to believe otherwise :)
I think people in the hitless community would've preferred if this went undiscovered
In base game the max robustness you can reach is 958, unfortunately you do need that ailment talisman from the DLC or the +2 variants of the stalwart/mottled, so you can only do this on NG+. For hitless runs, you are allowed to do self damage so you can use Ailment talisman + Seppuku. For damageless runs, you'd have to use the +2 variants. Of course there are ways to kill Mohg in only phase 1 but that's not really the point. Follow JustRecycle here: /
I saw him. Skumnut, i saw him!!!
There is also three ways to dodge the nihil attack , u got the cruscible feathers talisman if u use the backstep iframes u can dodge it + bloodhound step + blindspot ash of war “backhand blade”
So that’s what robustness is
But... Seppuku is a hit? So its not hitless?
hollow knight ost in the background goes crazy
You can see this happen in nightreign too if you tank nihil with raider's character skill. It doesn't fully fill the blood gauge.
That is so useful, props to you and him for making this in the light,
I remember seeing the dude on reddit that discovered this. Crazy shit man
“After 4 whole years”?? I can’t believe it’s been out that long😭😂
