It's 850m, not a billion. It matters because that figure is exaggerated to suit the "spent a fortune - won nothing" narrative, and that last 150m takes us above a couple of teams whose fans like to use that narrative. We could add Alvarez and still be under that billion threshold.
Once Arsenal wins the league, then nothing will stop us from getting more and more titles. We will break the curse, and after that, it is just bad news for everyone.

I’m of the view that Gyokeres has made the team better, and I never expected him to score 30-40 first season. He’ll improve them again next year. It’s taken Arsenal 5 hard years just to be knocking on the door, this is a very hard league if your aim is to win it. You’re never quite good enough!
I do hope Trossard stays, he’s a ‘squad player’ in the modern sense of the term, he won’t start every week but he’ll start often, and he’ll be involved in key plays. He’s a very modern type of player. Go somewhere mid-table and play twice a week and be expected to bail the team out every week, or be part of a well-oiled machine that’s now on the cusp of actually winning trophies? Trossard wont leave voluntarily.
