I spent a couple of weekends racking/shelving and organising my garage/work space, got the label maker out and labelled up absolutely everything and what a difference it makes, everything is neatly away and everything at hand, it makes such a difference to finally be organised, but you don't realise how many duplicates you actually have.

My husband died 7 months ago. I have done quite a lot in that time. I am almost 72 and live with chronic pain but there is nothing like taking your mind of things by getting organised. The zone I never entered was the big double garage which sort of resembles your workshop. Can only get into it via house as the big old iron garage door is to heavy for me to lift. First job was to get my brother around to replace the striplights with LED lighting, so I can actually walk in there. It was very dark and scary. I have already decided to paint the grey breeze block, white. It's scary because stuff is packed to the ceiling. Another thing I did straight away was get some sturdy stepladders as the fuse box is mounted up near the ceiling. Duh? Anyway, your video was very inspirational for me. I think I will be revisiting it several times. I am an organised sort of lady but my husband wasn't unfortunately. It's got to be the next job as I need a new garage door before winter and access will be needed. Love all your videos. 😊

Painting the backboard was so the right decision, I think I might have skipped it, but that would have been a mistake. It makes everything so much easier to see.

Having everything organised is a huge help in both time, not having to search for stuff, and cost, not having 500 tape measures

Get some Jam Jars and screw the lids to the underside of a shelf and then fill the jars with screws / nails and fasten the jars back into the lids. You can have a nice row of screws and nails easily accessible and visible.

Enjoying the workshop organisation vlogs lately, very therapeutic. Do any of the outbuildings have a consumer unit or something to wire up a few plug sockets and lights to? Or would getting electrics sorted in your workshop be a bigger job?
