I actually saw Rowan Atkinson have his accident in 2011. I was coming the opposite way. He exited a roundabout onto a stretch of road that was 2 lane and uphill. He was absolutely flying and swiftly overtook another car coming off the roundabout. I'm not sure if it was his steering input or going to hard on the throttle, but the back end broke loose, the car started to rotate. It looked like he then over corrected as his car span around fully across the 2 opposite lanes and ending in the bushes, in the ditch pretty much facing the way he was coming from. Gotta try be careful not to say too much. The weather was not a factor. Around this time, he was interviewed and he said something along the lines of " for every 1 F1 they make, they make 2-3 spare parts for the ones that are most likely to get damaged." He joked that he had now used two sets of his allocated spares and only had one set left. I think he broke some insurance record with the cost to repair. The repair was not quick and then he sold it a few years later (2015) for around 12 million dollars. Not a bad return saying he paid £640,000, or $830,000 for the car new in 1997
