Its not about comparing yourself to others. Its about comparing yourself to yourself. Shaqs potential was higher than what we saw him perform. Still either the best or 2nd best center of all time. But he had the chance to end that argument for good!

He didn't work hard !!! He had a attitude. Wasn't a leader to follow. He had movie's , endorsement , rap albums!! I was there in that era he was spoiled !!! Thats why kobe demanded he be traded. The organization saw it too. The rest is history.

Basically Shaqs argument is: im a freak of nature I didn’t need to work harder. But that wasn’t the question. The question wasn’t if he needed or didn’t need to work harder. The question was would he win 10 consecutive mvps and a billion championships if he worked harder. Everyone knows he would’ve been GOAT if he wanted. Dont get me wrong, I can understand shaq wanting to take it easy and be a gabajillionaire and still be a legend and in most people’s all time starting 5 lol.
