How Did Luke Skywalker Become A Jedi Master?

Luke actually never called himself a "Jedi Master". There are actually scenes in the comics where he actually corrects people when they called him such, stating that he himself is only a "Jedi Knight". He only referred to himself as a Jedi Knight because he KNEW he had to teach others before gaining the rank of "Master". He only adopted the title after he began teaching others to a similar rank.

To be fair he probably became the wisest Jedi alive

He was also grandmaster when he eventually formed a Jedi council
