for the confused: from what i can tell it looks like its an unprotected left turn and the other way most likely has a green light that turned yellow at the same time as the mcclarens... so he mustve been distracted just following the car in front of him (that quickly jumped out most likely knowing its an unprotected turn) so that would make the mcclaren at fault for failing to yield even if the lady in the civic "ran" (literally cruises throught btw) the yellow light... in case people dont understand why everyone is saying the mcclaren is at fault 😂 edit: A "yield to oncoming traffic" sign is not required at this intersection (based on the design of the light fixture that has a green arrow placement, google it) as it shifts from protected to unprotected left turns so yes, this happended to be the mcclarens fault for crossing into oncoming traffic specifically during an unprotected left turn. a lot of people need to rewatch the video, its clearly an UNprotected green/yellow light... if you have driven for a even a couple years across the WEST coast you will know that means the other light was green/yellow at the same time. None of yall should have a license damn 💀💀

Am I dumb? There was no arrow at the time, that's an optional turn lane, which means the mclaren should've had to wait, and oncoming would have been mirrored so she had a yellow. Even if that was an arrow, it's yellow which would also still mean yield. The mclaren was at fault.

It’s alarming how many people don’t know traffic laws in the US. No matter what timing of the cars entering the intersection, the car going straight will always have the right of way if the light is solid green and not a green arrow. The turning car must yield to traffic coming from in front of it until it is safe to cross. I have no idea where the hell people see a green left arrow. If that was the case, the McLaren would have the right of way and the Honda would have a red light which was not the case.

Everyone saying "Lady ran a red light" is wrong. Notice that mclaren doesn't have a green arrow, only a green light. That means that you are supposed to YEILD FOR ONCOMMING TRAFFIC before making a left turn. The lady had the right of way. The mclaren is at fault

I hope the ones saying that the Civic is at fault don't have a license. Notice the light on the left out of the three is longer than the other two, that light at the bottom is the left arrow light. When it's not on and it shows a solid green like the one on the video, the McLaren has to yield to oncoming traffic. The Civic would have a red light if that arrow was green. This is also the reason why the POV says "No no no no" because the first car turned left while there was a Civic trying to beat the light.
