To be fast with a gun is good, to be faster with your mind and your reason, that is ideal.
He was pretty quick with that hand gun . HOWEVER the most notable thing was that he was quite respectful to that young warrior .
That "dang you scared the life out of me" was made of wood.
"You missed Oklahoma by a hundred miles". In Texas, that's damn close, like "go that way for a day and you'll be there."
That’s the best conversation I’ve heard in a long time
Gave the young Comanche respect by addressing him as a person. Informed the young Comanche where his tribe could be found. Apologized for scaring off the deer. Provided advice for not sleeping in the canyon. Not friends, but respected acquaintances.
All these folks in the comments bad mouthing the dialog. Everybody here is armed. They both wanted to be VERY clear there were no bad intentions.
Charles Goodnight who started the JA Ranch is the man Captain Woodrow F. Call, from Lonesome Dove, is based on.
This perfectly showcases how people can still be people even though the world and it's powers are waring. There's always room for humanity.
Brave was definitely surprised by the level of friendliness at that time there wasn't a lot of good will between native Americans and Settlers. This was pleasant to watch❤
Language then had a formality to it that was intended to defuse just such situations. "An armed society is a polite society" - Robert Anson Heinlein
Matt Damon mixed with Cheddar Bob
The quana parker reference was pretty cool
Shoulda took that left at Albuquerque.
There were just two humans passing and being polite. Now its sadly red ✋️ but not everyone knows the children are being stolen from there rez.
Charles Goodnight's wife, Molly was instrumental in preserving the American Bison by raising calves after a slaughter. The Caprock Canyons herd are the direct descendants of the bison she saved. The Yellowstone National Park herd are descended from that herd.
This was the best conversation I have seen. Even if it's fictional. Its sad that we can't talk like this anymore to any one.
Straight up video game dialogue from 2004
That was the most awkward dialog delivery I've ever heard.
Mr. goodnight. It’s just such a fucking good name for any character with eccentricity. Or a whispered legend
