Two vehicles for me in 37 years of landcruiser ownership. The first was a factory turbo 1HD-FT 80 series and the second was my 2006 landcruiser 79 1HD FTE. Ive owned 5 v8 70s and theyve all had some dissapointing issues eg clutch and rear suspension. The 105 was like the 80 but felt overweight. The 200 was a nice car and the 300 a massive dissapointment. Bailed out of the 79 v8s and replaced then with a hilux 2023 SR. It does 90% of that the 70s did and with nil issues to date apart from a suspension upgrade. We have a 2025 76 v8 wagon a 1979 fj45 as well. The 2025 76 was a purchase to make a profit on. Oh! And a factory turbo nissan patrol ute sitting in the shed too which wont be sold as itt drives better than a new 70 🤣🤣🤣

I think you’ve forgotten how small trip carries are inside if you think you’re gonna step up inside it have a kitchen and a bed in the back I have a troopcarrier. It has a bed down one side and a cupboard on the other unless you cut the roof out that’s all the realestate you’re getting.

That troopy of yours Graham would have been an ex ambulance. Most state services and some mining companies used them for remote work and indeed still use the 79s with the same set up! Keep an eye out on government auctions they do occasionally still pop up!

I will always regret selling my 1990 RB30 skyline. I sold it for cheap because a friends son wanted a project car.

Still dayli driving my 98 GU 2.8l Td here in Europe Switzerland. 270'000km now and love it since 7 years. Very rare now in Europe are such rigs with inline 6 engines and 2 solid axles ìn good condition. Mostly they where rotten away because of salty winterroads or sold to africa
