It was the middle finger that did it, not the driving. It can escalate to road rage and the officer just squashed it.

Another piece of driving etiquette You're in moderate traffic cruising at 65 miles an hour on the freeway. The car to your left starts to drift into your lane do not pull away. If you pull away to avoid it and make contact with the vehicle in the lane to your right you are responsible. It's a knee-jerk reflex you need to get over and let them make contact with you in your lane.

Show respect for somebody that has nearly run me off the road? Has made left’s in front of me forcing me to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him? Had ridden 6 feet off my bumper on the highway? Respect is earned and today's truckers have earned that respect.
