This is funny that you think old people do not know much, there are many senior solo travelers who make perfect videos. I am self taught and still learning and I am in my 70's. Have lots of health issues, but still if I can get out in good weather I don't mind being alone and talking to strangers.

I have a suggestion for you, rather than using bluetooth button, there is a option in iphone. You can create a customise voice command button.. then connect you phone to your buds or any audio device which have mic if you are clicking yourself from little far from phon, then just say the name what u mentioned your customize button. Then it can press automatically the camera button.. or if u are not so far from your phone then u don't need to connect buds or anything just say the customized button name which u mentioned.. then it will click the camera button.. its so much helpful, i used it before when i have iphone.. No need any blutooth button to click..
