Im in my late 30s and in my early 30s, I went off and did some traveling alone. Same thing you said at the end, I didnt want to waste my life or miss opportunities to wait for someone to come along to travel with so off I went. It was scary but it was absolutely fantastic and worth it and I would 100% do it again. The first time, I did book a 2 week group tour which I really enjoyed and felt a bit safer when I had never done anything like that before. Then a few years later, I took my Mum and it was equally as fantastic 😊 im so glad you are doing these things for yourself. And to others, don't wait! You need to live your life whether be it alone or with others

If there was ever a place were a young woman was going to solo travel it would definitely be Thailand it’s one of the most safest places in the world I’m glad your having a enjoyed it well done ❤️

Hey came across this vid while researching Ao Nang. Love what you said at the end regarding solo travel. I've been traveling solo to music festivals all over the world for 15 years. It does get lonely but I love music and travel so I dont want to waste that love stuck at home. I also have anxiety though, so I tend stick around my hotel and just travel to and from the festivals without doing much exploring. My trip to Thailand in December will be my first real time exploring solo in a country.

Hi Celine. I just checked out your video. I just wanted to share some thoughts on solo travelling. I'm 58 and have done some solo travelling (not full-time) but for vacations etc. I was always hesitant to do it, not because I couldn't, but was worried about not having a good time...obviously you can. I initially did touristy stuff, but I wasn't being fulfilled to the fullest. It was only when I started opening myself up and actively talking to locals and making friends, local and foreign...that I felt a part of the country I was visiting. I notice that most vloggers don't ever mention the people they meet on their videos, if ever. I find that a shame. Meeting different people is the reason I travel. When I return home, my friends ask me about my trip and want to see pics, but I always say....let me tell you about the people I've met. I've made great friends in Thailand. Spent time at their homes. Rode motorbikes in the mountains with them. Distributed gifts and fed school children of the hill tribes outside of Chiang Mai as a part of their enduro (motorbike) club. It was my BEST DAY EVER in Chiang Mai. None of which would have been possible had I had not made the effort to speak to the locals as somebody who wanted to get to know them. I wish more people would talk about the people they meet while traveling than where they visit. Its easy to go see the cool places, get the great pics, but maybe take a minute at the end of your video and tell a story about somebody you met while there. You seem down to earth and a nice person. I don't think you'd have a problem making friends with the locals...especially in Thailand. I think you'll be surprised how fulfilling it is. They will treat you like family! I'm heading to Thailand for the first time next month solo and thoroughly enjoyed this video :) We have similar experience as Japan being both of our first solo trips outside of our home countries. So, I completely relate to everything you were feeling and thinking in those quiet moments. I also got my oh sh*t moment when i was in koh poda island when i was sunbathing after lunch and i realised i was in my vision board and i could just take a flight be in a whole different world, i was feeling so grateful .💖💖And the tour guide for your four island tour was the same girl for us. It was so nice seeing her again 💖

I’ve been doing more solo traveling too, so I totally hear you. While the loneliness pops up every now and then, I’ve really come to love and appreciate the experience overall - it’s been such a rewarding way to explore and grow. I’ve been to the beaches in Koh Samui and Phuket, and Krabi looks fantastic as well! I love Chiang Mai and Bangkok and can’t wait to see your vlogs from those places too.
