I also just had my first international flight alone and also in Japan, I totally agree with the thing you said about all the people boarding with you in the plane are with their family while you were just there alone lol. It felt awkward but at the same time fulfilling
It is a good self discovery tour, it pushes out the comfort zone and one will appreciate what we have readily day to day.

As someone that has lived here for a year, pro tip is to use a UV cut umbrella for summer (makes a huge difference). The sun cooks you alive and I've seen people pass out due to exhaustion.

I traveled to japan alone as well in April at 18/19 since my birthday was in June. I would say it was the best time of my life. I hope you enjoyed it!
