Michel - I hope you and your viewers (especially those who are younger) understand that a man approaching a woman he doesn't know, who is alone, multiple times and commenting about her appearance, should be a red flag. Are there people out there who don't understand the impact of how they are coming off and mean to make those comments innocently? Possibly; however is your safety worth that assumption?. You are undoubtedly a very pretty woman, and I'm sure many people think so, but that has nothing at all to did with it. You should not take this as flattering. Many women are approached by strangers saying similar things, and some for very dark reasons. This is the world we live in. Romanticizing potentially very dangerous behavior by calling it "sweet" and finding it flattering does a huge disservice to your viewers (many of whom are younger and look up to you) and to yourself. Being preyed upon is never the victim's fault, however there are important things that we as women should know in order to protect ourselves. It's not victim blaming - it's not blame at all - it's about keeping ourselves safe. If a stranger approaches a woman (especially a woman traveling alone) and comments about their appearance, it is best to calmly but firmly put an end to the conversation/try to get with a bigger group, etc. Being "nice" or engaging with the person is a bad idea. I know as women we may think we're "not being nice," but who really cares about "nice" when it comes to safety. Predators absolutely look for people who seem flattered, respond positively or engage with them. Again, this is not victim blaming, this is about keeping ourselves safe. Unfortunately, many of us have had to learn the hard way (myself included), and I don't want that for you or for any of your viewers. I'd urge you to be more discerning with who you engage with, and also not to romanticize and brag about these incidents as if they are harmless. They aren't.
Wow, $300 a night is expensive!
I agree that that guy was really creepy! Please be careful during your solo travels! 😊
Watching this cause I don't know what to do in my own city... Whole time I'm worried about Michel going to the hood lol
We at Virginia Highland Books are so glad you stopped in to visit. Come back soon!
I grew up in metro Atlanta lol. The city is generally a shit hole with horrendous traffic and even worse seasonal allergies, but there are a few nice parts which I'm glad you saw. Living in FL now, I do miss the hills and the huge tall trees and the rainforest vibes. Love your videos! 😊
This was SO FUN FOR ME, thank you for coming on a foodie adventure with me :-) Here are links to everything, including where all I went! As someone who visited for a weekend and loved it and then moved here - you already saw everything, basically. There really aren't any more “cool” parts than what you saw and it’s a terribly run city. The green, lush, cute neighborhoods also drew me in but it ends there! And all of the “cool/cute” restaurants are pretty much run by the same couple of restaurant groups. If you want an actual hidden gem of a city I highly recommend Minneapolis for Austin vibes! I lived in austin too!
I live in a suburb of ATL. Next time you're here make sure to visit some amazing towns in North Georgia. Dahlonega is the cutest town (adorable at Christmas time). The Montaluce Vineyards has beautiful grounds and an amazing restaurant with great views. The food is sooo good. Helen GA is a Bavarian replica village...super cute and it sits on a river. It has amazing German Restaurants. Gibbs Gardens ...incredible Japanese Gardens, so gorgeous/breathtaking. Great video...I enjoyed it.
I’ve been here 18 years and I do believe any city is what you make of it. My experience with Atlanta is pretty true to what you’ve depicted. I’m a foodie and a gal who loves exploring, this is exactly how I spend my weekends in Atlanta - with my three littles (all girls) by the way. It’s a very beautiful place to raise a family. ❤😊
I live in Atlanta and you did us proud! But you barely scratched the service, so come back again🎉
The “cat calls” some of the men make in Atlanta are top tier. The people in the comments saying it’s creepy are buggin 😂 Lived here for nearly 15 years and most of those calls are harmless and very creative lol. When they find out you’re married they always say how much your husband is lucky/should be appreciative etc. Glad you took it well and got a smile out of it 😆
Isn't it just the best day when you find GOOD food that meets your dietary restrictions?!?
your travel vlogs are so refreshing to watch! I love how you just go with the flow. We just went to Jekyll Island in Georgia and it might’ve been my favorite state ever.
Glad you liked ATL! The areas you were in are def the fun areas with lots of walking!
I will never get tired of these solo videos. Not only do I get to see places I’ve never been but you are always so happy. You looked fabulous in that dress. I’m so glad you had a good time. 💜🦋🫶🏼
If you make it back to Atl, go to Inman Park and eat at Fritti. They have the best GF pizza, homemade fluffy pizza dough! Your mind will be blown away, it’s so good!
I can't believe you were in my hometown! Virginia Highlands is the cutest area! Next time you visit you should try Superica- its some of my favorite tex-mex food in the city and the vibes are immaculate! Love you and Jordy! (also reccomend Athens and all the cute small towns around the city like Monroe and Madison!)
this energy was exactly what i needed today 🧿
“Is Atlanta a hidden gem?” Girl we’ve been full for yearssssss
