For anyone wondering what it feels like, it's like if you were to cut the very tip of your finger off. Not deep enough to touch the bone, but deep enough to bleed. Not pleasant, but not the worst pain you could ever feel. It would definitely make your dog averse to the next nail trimming, but just don't do it again and you don't have to beat yourself up over it or worry about your dog becoming permanently afraid of nail trimming

to all the dog owners out there, if something like this actually happens, what you should do is wash your pet's nail, take a clean, unused and non toxic soap and press it against the pet's nail to form a temporary clot of blood. do not forget to clean the soap from the nail after the blood stops. And if you're wondering, its totally non toxic to the dog. search it up if you want to. Ts happened to my pet 3 yrs ago.
