back in the 70s, California had random roadside safety inspections. My brother inl aw got pulled in his 55 VW bug and they said, you can't have that 2x6 for a bumper. Then they said turn on his wipers and he reached out the window and grabbed one to move them back and forth. He said the cop was shaking and trying not to laugh. Then came the horn, and he stuck his head out the window and yelled BEEP. He failed and had a list of things to fix.
