Nevermind the title, I'm here to talk about how this "theoretical Coloradan" described at the start is 100% just Sam describing himself lol
The US, where the company selling the car makes more money than the one making it
If direct to consumer car sales can be made illegal by the dealers, any sort of price manipulation and markups should also be illegal.
I'll watch this when I want to get angry
They don’t call them stealerships for nothing!
Here while the title was still "Wendover E087 CarDealership YT"
I think sam just bought a new car and got scammed
I love how most anti consumerist problems in america are because of lobbying
I can’t wait for the Spirit Airlines video 😬
3:00 "In the rest of the world, free market capitalism exists. in the US, it doesnt"
It is crazy that a middleman has to be created, to fix a middleman's problems.... We need competition...
To a European like me this is crazy. I long ago found out about how some dealerships force or manipulate you to take crazy financing options. I couldn't imagine buying a new car in America with all those greedy money hungry vultures.
notification came as Wendover E087 Car Dealership lol
You know it's a Wendover Productions video when it starts in Western Colorado
Dealerships are cartels. They're specifically designed to distort what would be a free market.
America the type of country where it’s illegal to buy a car without being ripped off first
"educate them on the vehicle" LOL, every sales person I've dealt with didn't know anything about their vehicles. They aren't working to get you what you need, they are working to sell what they have on the lot. I said I needed the V6, I've driven the i4 version, I need the V6. yet then they proceed to still try and talk me into the i4 cause their last v6 was gone.
I used to work at a car dealership. The general manager told me that the real moneymaker for them was the service department. He said that if a dealership isn't profitable just from parts and service, then they're bad at their jobs. Any money made on vehicle sales is just money on top of that. Vehicle sales were just a way for them to increase the customer base of people utilizing the service department. It's a terrible, parasitic business model.
After working in the US for decades, it has become clear to me that literally everything is designed to try and squeeze money out of you. If it's not some car middleman, it's some extra fee on required tags, or relentless salesmen or ads. Ads in everything. Every time I turn around, someone is trying to get into my wallet in some new way. It has turned this country greedy and self centered. And the fact that I cannot buy directly from a dealer shows me the laws and lawmakers support all this greed.
In my experience, I pre-ordered a new Ford Maverick direct through Ford. Waited 16 months, and when I picked it up the dealership was trying to charge $3k more than what was on my order form. I had to raise hell just to get them to match the price on my original order. I just feel bad for the people who don't know and don't push back and get taken advantage of...
