And it's a roller! I find watching things like that being assembled very satisfying indeed. The only thing that made me squirm a bit was watching you kneel on that concrete floor. I've had too many years working on concrete and now really need the kneepads. Take it from me, protect your knees!
Next time bolt the springs to the axles first and use the whole assembly like a wheel barrow to wheel them under the chassis…dont tighten the shackle bolts until the truck is complete and the whole weight is on the springs
Well done...one small item....please strap the chassis to the ramp in a couple of places as you fit heavy parts to it. You will find at the wrong time there may be an imbalance. Great work!
Great to see you enjoying your workshop after all that hardwork!
Great work so far very nice paint work. Nice job.
I watched a series ! LR chassis being produced in Tyesley (Birmingham ). Dad worked at LR after WW2, and they had workers open days, we saw the zinc plating and paint dipping . chassis used to travel to Solihull LR , on an open top lorry about 20 at a time, We later had a 'Jungle' track ride on an 88 it had 5 passenger seats fitted, Great memories.
Fantastic work and progress Dom. You cannot beat starting with a new chassis.
Fantastic update. That lift is a superb workshop addition for you working mostly on your own. It's great to see the S1 starting to go back together.
Great seeing you use anti-seize Dom. As our old mate - "Bruce in Aus" say's - always think of the next bloke who comes along, - and the way the years fly by, it's usually the "same the bloke"....hahaha - loving the rebuild (and all your projects) in that great workshop of yours, which must be an absolute joy returning home to it after time away.
Wow! That chassis is nice! Good to see it going together
Looking good well done Dom
Looking good. Exciting times
Spend lots of time lining up the bodywork and adjustments to bulkhead. It’s worth the faff 😊
I Googled Shielder, very surprised how reasonably priced they sell those frames (chassis). Around $3,000-$5,000, remarkable, plus made in the UK, bravo.
Hi Dom, I look forward to seeing your videos on a Sunday evening, I just wonder how Mrs Dom copes with you and all your projects. Good luck with the series1.
Looking superb Dom lookin forward to next week's video have a lovely bank holiday TTFN.
I've always thought that the Landrover was a Meccano set on steroids, and this video has confirmed this. Such a satisfying couple of days work.
Looking amazing, Dom. I look forward to your videos every Sunday.
You need to start a cardboard check list for the oils and grease and all the other jobs you will need to keep track of
