Rich the part that was leaking was the pcv system and on this car its part of the oil seperation system. If either of those have ripped diaprams or stuck internal check valves, you will keep losing oil down the intake and the vacuum will never be happy causing mifsires. Worth changing those.
You know modern cars have gone too far when the dealerships can't properly diagnose their own cars.
The second hand anxiety making them wait is real haha. Hate those situations.

You bought a car with no wheels to keep the price down? This is actually a sensible pro tip - I've done the same. I've found it's fantastic on preventing wear and tear generally, and coincidentally it's AMAZING with miles per gallon. I get near unlimited range.
