Technically it wasn't really covered in the rules because they put the restricter in just like everybody else they just found a way to work around it which obviously wasn't against the rules because if it was they wouldn't have done it Yes they still faced a punishment as it is still technically seen as "cheating" This is why rules are made people have to cheat in these events for certain rules to be made

celica gtfour IIRC restrictor plate had a gasket or retainer or something like it that would Intentionally fail allowing air to bypass the restrictor plate

It was a clamp that when you tightened it it opened on the inside for a bigger intake and when you undone it the intake got smaller for the rules
