Sorry guys my first time on tv I was nervous definitely far too many yeh yeh yeh yeh 😂😂😂 yeh!!! Thank you for all your comments and support it means a lot it’s giving me a buzz thinking about the next chapter- getting it on the road!! 🤞🤞😊 I will keep you posted on how this is going. Take care everyone 🙏x
I’d just like to say a big thankyou to Johnny the team and all my friends who made this possible including a special thank you to Bill who came up with the idea to contact the late brake show it was an excellent day I would recommend it to anybody who has a barn find to resurrect and recommission for the road!! Thank you to all involved 🙏❤x
Of all the cars I have seen come back to life on this channel - THIS ONE needs a second video once it’s back on the road.
The excitement of a bunch of blokes starting up an old engine. It's unmatched. Heartwarming really.
You somehow top your last one every single time!
Old jags just scream “bank job” this thing is the great train robbery.
My dad had one of those in BRG. He drove us down to Barcelona in the 70’s! The roads in Spain back then weren’t what they are now. Unfortunately he hit a really bad pot hole driving from Barcelona to Sitges and the exhaust got ripped off. There were no Jag dealers in Spain at the time. So, Jag flew one out to Barcelona days later. We had to hire a car and drive to barcelona airport to pick up the exhaust. We then drove back to Sitges where it was fitted by a local mechanic, who never ever seen a Jag let alone work on one. I remember everyone wanted to talk to him about the car. He sold it years later sadly. The old fella did alright for a financial immigrant escaping Franco in the 60’s. He passed a couple of years ago with dementia. By lunch tine, he couldn’t remember what he’d had for breakfast, but he still remembered the Jag. This brought a 😢 to my eyes - thanks Johny.
Wow what a vehicle, I could smell that interior all the way in Sydney, well done Johnny and all the lads, great result.
A set of wheel dollies would be a worthy addition to the kit you take to a barn find
Every barnfind from now on should have a few scouse mates along to help!
Jonny, you MUST, MUST do some follow-up vids of your barn finds!
This has to be one of my favourite episodes. Watching the four of you at the end diagnosing the faults and fixing them old school was amazing. 😊
From Sydney, Australia, my favorite car ever made by humans !!!!! Mum bought a new 3.8ltr mk10 in November 1961 when I was a 6-yr old, she updated to a 420G in March 1971 as her birthday pressie to herself. Then as a 19 yr old in 1975 I bought a 1967 version for myself, it was my second car as a driver. TODAY in 2026 FIFTY-ONE YEARS later I still own it, still looks and runs like new. When I was a young doctor, I bought the factory optional 8 Koni gas shocks instead of the standard Girling oil shocks, the Koni's were staggeringly expensive, but transformed the cars handling, and the 4.2 litre versions of both the 420G and 4.2ltr ml10 both had the fantastic new steering box with variable ratio and a small lock or turning circle for such a big heavy car. Jonny re the shape- Malcolm Sayers, Sir William Lyons body designer who had during ww2 been an aircraft designer, was also a major influence in the body design used aeronautic "laminar flow" in the WHOLE side profile of the design, that is why it "puffs" out in the middle and tapers at both ends , PLUS , both the front and rear taper downwards, the car has a very low frontal aspect height from the bumper to fop of the bonnet. This is not random design, as all of this is aeronautic design language that helps road holding at high speed, along with its flat underside where the only visible component is the exhaust pipes. IN USE- when a mates dad bought a new 1977 w116 450SE Mercedes I was fully HORRIFIED at its front-end lift and rear end squat at speed on the Hume Highway going south from Sydney to our nation's capital Canberra. Giving the Merc' a weird light steering feel. I had driven this very same route in my 10 year older giant Jaguar multiple times in all weathers, and it had its usual stance at speed, nose down, "bum" up, whether just me in the car or other uni students too, same stance, balanced, perfect and predictable. The Merc' was "shit". Jonny these mk10/420G's are a way, way better car than people think. This was William Lyons " ZENITH " project that would be the basis of EVERY FOLLOWING Jaguar vehicle, and it was just that. A million years ago in 1961 when mum collected her car DIRECTLY at the Jaguar factory, while her black beauty was being prepared with temporary UK rego, I was being shown as a six, almost seven-year-old around the factory by both Sir Norman Dewis and Malcolm Sayer, they explained everything over a couple of hours about their MAIN PET PROJECT the MK10, hence my passion for it all these years later as a now just retired 70 year old
Great video, excellent editing. If only the world could cooperate like all the people in this video did, and make great things happen.
I can't quite my head around the first owner being the Bishop of the Isle of Man!
I don't know what I'm more jealous of, the car or the garage! What an amazing sanctuary to hide away in
The chunk of that door sounded like a brand new Rolls. This is a real auction princess. I can see 100 grand for it.
I'm in my 50s now but as a kid my uncle had a 420 when they were cheap second hand cars, I was only around 3 years old and apparently John's Jag were one of my favorite phrases essentially the car that started a lifelong fascination with all things automotive, I have very vague memories of being in the back of it on days out, no car seat or seatbelt, still one of my too 10 cars if own if I had the money, despite not being a big seller for Jaguar it's still to my mind one of their best ever looking cars
22:30 the four of you standing round the Jaaag there, it's 1969 and a job's about to go off.
What a lovely positive bunch of people!!
