Now that the ol' Ford is running great, it's time to move onto the interior! I wanted something, timeless, a little classic, and universal. So, I decided to go with a retro version of the "king ranch" style interior. The colors match amazing with the light green. You can do this at home! That radio delete needs to be 3D scanned and printed for all the owners searching!🛠️
i'm not a truck guy but wouldn't bucket seats in this thing be considered sacraled.. sacro.. wouldnt it be considered unholy?
"Why are there footprints on the ceiling, did date night get a little wild?" "No, that's just Derrick solo-installing the headliner"
I feel like the ol' Sears AC is part of the trucks history/story. Keep it for sure.
Even though I'm retired, this is still the best part of the end of the week. I sure could have used this back when I was working. Bar none my absolute favorite show. Better yet, love talking about vice grip ride with my 83-year-old father and other friends who also watch. Keep up the good work VGG, you are so very appreciated.
Doesn't matter how bad your day is going, when Uncle Derek posts a 1 hour + video, it always gets better!
Leave the Sears under dash unit. If it were a brick style unit, I'd throw it out but, that one was specifically designed for that dash to only fit the Ford. I love it!
The hard part of a Friday... waiting the minutes between 6 pm and whenever the new episode goes live 😂😂
Definitely leave the Sears ac 👍
Love the blinker.
Thank you Derek and family!
As someone from Tulsa, I seriously appreciate all you are doing for us!!!!
Best way to end out the week
Love the old Ford trucks. Starting to look good!
I was a screen printer for 40 years and printed on everything. To get rid of silicone/mold release we would hit it with a torch (lightly). Try it sometime. Really cool truck!
That original paperwork reminds me of a memory, real or imagined. July 4, 1971. The yard has been mowed, a baseball game has been played. Dad, mom and their 12 year old son cimb in that pickup and head east out of the small town a couple of miles then turn down a tree lined dirt road until they reach the small farm house of Tommy's friend. In a flash a screen door flies open with the friend and younger sister run out to the new Ford. The kids climb in the truck bed and back to the edge of town they go. The small lakeside park doubles as a launch pad for the fireworks. Dad finds a convenient spot to park just as the fire flies begin their dance. Tommy and friends now arned with sno-cones and hot dogs, clamber back into the truck bed and settle down for the grandest fireworks show in the county. Thanks for the good work Derek.
Did Derek just give us the VGG home drinking game? This feller just keeps on giving the fans more!!😂😂
1:11:48 for the headliner, grab a couple welding magnets and put them in ziplock bags so you don't get grinder dust all over everything, use them to hold it up while you put the screws in.
That’s the kind of stuff that makes a vehicle feel alive. Anyone can restore parts, but original documentation is core to the story. Really cool to see it still with the truck!
Love it! I was born in 71’ 😊
